Our visit to Rome...

What an exciting week Clara and I have had at Vacation Bible School. We travel back in time to Rome to visit Paul! I wish I had pictures but I was busy leading my Roman family through the market place and to the underground church. Some of the kids even got to try rat kabobs! ( Or was it chicken???) Our family name was Cassius. I had a group of 8 kids plus Clara. We had a great time learning all about Paul and the struggles that Christians had back then. I am so thankful that we can openly worship and praise our one true God!

There were lots of "offical" photographers so I hope to get some pics later to share. Clara did better then I expected. She even got on stage tonight with all the kids to sing. So hopefully she will do it again on Sunday. Paul (and Brutus) are going to be our special visitors on Sunday and then the kids are going to sing the songs they learned.

I am off to bed. We have gotten home late all week and it has really caught up with us tonight. I hope to have pics from this Sunday to post.

Lots of Love & Gods blessings,

Holley

Catching up.....

Wow, it has been awhile since I have been able to post. But what can I say, it is summer and we are on the go ALL THE TIME. So I have lots of pictures to share.

This year for Father's Day we went to a Red Hawks game. My boss was nice enough to give us tickets ( I have a great boss!!). SO, Matt, Clara, my MIL and my dad headed to Bricktown. We had great seats and had a wonderful time. And our team won!!

I was lucky enough to get to take a whole week for vacation. Clara's school always closes the week of the 4th so I really don't have a choice. We usually go somewhere but with money being so tight we just stuck around here. We went swimming almost everyday and we went to the Oklahoma Aquarium on day. It was alittle bit of a drive but we headed up to Tulsa for the day and went to see the fish.

"You lookin' at me?"

Then it was off to the 4th of July picinic our church has every year. We have gone every year except last year. It is alot of good food and fun!! I made this wonderful layered Mexican dip. I got the recipe from http://www.pioneerwoman.com/ if you want to try it.

We hope everyone had a Happy 4th of July. We have another busy weekend. Matt turns 30 on Friday (andmy birthday is on Saturday)!!! And we have a weeding on Saturday.

Cutting & Pictures

I wanted to post some pictures of me cutting so the non-horsey people know what it is. I will try and get a video downloaded but no promises. LOL

I had a good weekend. I went to a show on Saturday in Kansas. I actually got to show 3 times, which usually doesn't happen because it is sooo expensive to enter. Which is why we went to a show so far away. They have more classses with cheaper entry fees. Any way I ended up getting half my entry fees back so all in all it was wortth the drive.

This picture is from about 3 years ago, but they are all I have right now. (I was actually pregnant but didn't know at the time :) )

These are some of our cows. The tiger stripe is mine and Clara and I named ber Tina.

We hope everyone as a blessed week.

Memorial Weekend

I love 3 day weekends! I guess I should start off by saying thanks to the Armed Forces for all they do. We are so blessed to live in the land of the free.

Saturday we went to a yummy fish fry. A friend of my dad's has it every year and for some reason this was the first year we have gone. What were we thinking? There was all the fresh catfish and shrimp (Yes, SHRIMP) you could eat. There was a fun playground for the kids to play on. Clara had such a great time. It was in such a beautiful place also and the weather couldn't have been nicer. Well at least until we headed home. Then the skies got dark and the rain come down.

Eating a plate full of cake.

Happy Girl!
I almost forgot before the Fish Fry Clara and I went to get our nails done. It was her first trip to the nail salon. I hope I didn;t start her too early :). Little girls are so much fun!

To finish off the fun on Sunday we went to the Cowboy Hall of Fame Chuck Wagon Gathering and Kids Day. We had been planning on this for weeks. Matt was really excited to hear the cowboy poets and music. There were lots of old wagons set up and each served a real cowboy meal, stew, cornbread, beans & rice and peach cobbler. Yummy. It actually was around 80 degrees out so I really didn't feel like eating hot stew but that didn't stop Matt. We will definatley mark our calanders for next year.

Clara riding "Cocoa".

Tomorrow we are going to catch up on house work and try and get our yard bak to looking like normal. All the rain has really made the grass grow faster then we can get it mowed.

We hope everyone has a nice day off tomorrow. And may God be wih you in the week ahead.

Our Garden

I finally got some pictures of our vegetable garden. Although most of the plants have already doubled in size. So I will try a get some new pictures this weekend. It has been so much fun for Clara and I to go tend to our garden most evenings after school and work. It is a nice way to relax. Clara loves to see how everything is coming up. She like to touch all of them and say "Hello" to them. She was telling me all the things we had planted there tonight and included tator tots. I am sure everyone is dying to know where we got tator tot plants from, LOL!

It has been a pretty uneventful week for us. Matt had to work 2 days this week at the Stock Yards so we haven't seen him much. (but he did buy another mama cow & baby!) So we are very much looking foward to the long weekend. Hopefully we can get caught up on our yard work and laundry, house cleaning and laundry, did I mention laundry?
We hope everyone has a Safe and Happy holiday weekend!

Mother's Day Weekend

Our Angel is getting so big.

Me and Clara (she wanted to go play)

Okay so I am a little behind on my posting but what did you expect.

Last weekend was Mother's Day (I think it was last weekend. This month is flying by) On Saturday Matt went to day work for a friend in Loco so Clara and I spent the day doing yard work at my MIL's. Luckly my dad was in town to help. We planted some flowers for her mother's day gift then mowed. Then we planted our vegetable garden. Thanks to my dad tilling a huge spot for us and helping me plant everything (included 16 tomato plants!) we got everything done in one day. We planted tomatoes, peppers, carrots, lettace, corn, cucumbers, sweet corn, oninons & watermelon. I am getting hungery just thinking about it. I will try and get some pics this weekend so I can post the progress. Last night when we watered some of the seeds were starting to sprout. Then on Sunday we went to church. I was asked to help with the baby dedication, which is always neat. Our church only does baby dedications on Mother's Day. It made me think back to Clara's dedication 2 years ago. What a memorable 1st Mother's Day. After church I took a long nap. I hadn't taken a nap in a long time and it was so nice. Then Matt's mom made a wonderful dinner for everyone.

I hope everyone else had a great weekend. We are off to watch a ranch horse competition this afternoon. Clara loves to go to any kind of "horse show".

I promise to try and update this more often. I did change it up a bit for summer. Hope everyine likes it.

Until next time May God bless you and your family!
