Cow, Cows, Cows!

Calves eating supper

Clara and Rose

Tough day at the ranch

Matt decided he wanted to tag all the cows and work the calves this weekend. I love to help but sometimes feel like a fish out of water since I grew up a City girl. We only have around 100 head so it usually just takes the majority if a day. Matt gets a handful of his buddies to help so it goes pretty quick. Clara (and myself) love the cows. We do our best to give them all name. Which is not good when it comes time to sale them.

When you gotta go, you gotta go.
I also found a new website this week. It is about a City girl who married a cowboy and all the funny things she goes through on a day-to0day basis. (The cowboy is a Drummond. So she married a cowboy with a HUGE ranch) She has written all aboput how she neet and fell in love with him. When you get a chance check it out.
She also has lots of yummy looking recipes.
I am off to bed. I hop eyou all have a blessed week.

Daddy helping Clara learn to rope

Well we had a pretty busy weekend.

Saturday we meet my Aunt from Nebraska who is looking for a horse for her daughter and headed for a youth rodeo in Binger. It is always fun getting to watch the little ones ride. I can't wait to start hauling Clara. Then off to the City if errands and back home to get LEs (my cutting horse) reading for the show on Sunday.

So of course the only Sunday show I have been to in forever had to fall on the Sunday we lose an hour of sleep. I had to meet everyone by 7:00 am (which was really 6:00 am!!). Then we headed out for Cherokee, OK which I thought was about an hour away. Boy was I wrong. Over 2 hours later we finally made it. And barely enough time to enter and get my horse loped down. It was my first "real" cutting since I had Clara so I was a little rusty. But I guess you have to start back somewhere. Les was pretty good, I wasn't. LOL. We finally got to start the drive home around 3:00 which ment we would make it home in time for supper. I was so ready to see Clara.

I guess we are ready to start a new week. I was kinda bad with my bible reading this week so I think I only got a few chapters read. I will try and do better this week. I hope you all have a blessed week!!!

The only way I got her to wear a skirt was

because it was a JEAN skirt.

Clara in mommy's hat.

*As you can see in the pics Clara fell on Thursday and busted her lip and scapped up her check but is looking much better this week,

*I keep forgetting to add that we a doing great with the potty training. Clara is only wearing PullUps at night!! And having very few accidents at school.

We finally have all caught up on our rest from the big birthday weekend just in time to lose an hour of sleep this weekend,LOL.

Wednesday nights I take Clara to Childrens Church and I have to brag a little. It is really for 5 year-olds through 5th grade but I wanted to get involved so I take her along. The leader has a challage each week for the kids to memorize a verse. Well, the first week I wasn't so worried because Clara's verse was "God is faithful". (The younger kids get a shorten version) she learned it the first night we started practicing it. And believe it or not she was the ONLY one is Children's Church to know the verse that week! So last week the verse was a little longer but we had to weeks to learn it, "Blessed is the man, who trust in the Lord....Jeremiah 17:7", and she remembered it also!! I was so shocked along with all the other moms in the room. Thank goodness all the other kids remebered it too.

Also our pastor as challaged the church to read the New Testament this year. I have started, but not as far as I would like to be. So I challage everone to do the same. I am currently on Matthew Chapter 13. I will try and keep you updated on my progress.

Saturday, Matt, Clara and I went to Binger America to the Ranch cutting. I am finally getting back to showing now that Clara is old enough to go with. (I really hate leaving her! She is so darn cute!) So I lost my cow in the first class. But they have a buckle class that if you haven't won a buckle in the past 2 years you can enter, which I haven't even showed in the past 2 year, so I thought why not. I ended up winning, marking a 73! I was pretty excited. It was only my third show back. So Matt is trying to talk me into going to a bigger show this weekend. Not quite sure if I am ready for that. Working full time and taking care of a husband and little one makes it hard to ride in the evening.

I hope everyone has a blessed week!!

My pretty new buckle!

Cowgirl Clara Turns 2!

Wow, what a weekend! I can't believe Clara turned 2 years old this weekend. We started with a birthday party with her friends at school on Friday and then we took Clara, Chance and PaPa Gordy to the circus Friday night. We had a blast! The kids (& PaPa) really enjoyed all the circus acts. Then Saturday morning we were off and running bright and early. We had lots to do to get ready for the big party. We had breakfast in town with PaPa Keith and our special guests Aunt Bobbie and Uncle Irv who drove all the way from Iowa for the party. (They win the prize for driving the farthest!)

Clara has talked about her birthday party for weeks so she was so excited for the day to finally come. We had a Pink Cowgirl themed party with a cowgirl boot shaped cake and pink cowgirl boots to drink from. Thank you to everyone for all the gifts. It took her a long while to open everything. We waited for everyone to leave before she opened her gift from PaPA Keith....a John Deere Gator. She has been wanting one since Christmas. I am glad the weather is getting nicer so she can ride it after school.

Well I hope everyone has a great week. I am off to bed.

God Bless youall!!

PBR

Okay, so I am adding something else to my list of things-to-do, a Blog. I thought it would be a good way for everyone to keep up with our crazy life and watch Clara grow into a big cowgirl. Please be patient. I will try and update it once a week.

Clara's birthday is this Sunday so my boss gave us tickets to the PBR for Friday night. Clara was so excited about going to see the buckin' bulls. She is so into anything western. (I wonder why?) Although it was a long day for her (she also had a Valentine'sparty at school) we made it home with just a few tears.

I will update again this weekend hopefully with picture from the big birthday party. We hope everyone is doing great.

God Bless you all!
Clara ready to go and see the Buckin' Bulls!
